Hear them out

Who would have thought that taking a course for a semester in a university could be this fun and exciting? Yeah, that was what I thought when I heard the course introduction of Creative Writing from Mrs. Nurul Chojimah.  Why did I say that? Well, for me, this course is just like a peace maker amidst the chaos. I may sound exaggerating, but that was how I felt when Mrs. Nurul said that we can write whatever we want in this course as long as it’s appropriate. And I have always liked writing since I was little.

Creative Writing is indeed a helpful course to increase my writing skill in this semester. The blogging method and the freedom that Mrs. Nurul entrusted to us felt like the biggest opportunity to express myself without having any restraint in writing.  Although I felt like that this course didn’t give me significant change at first, but the growth during each writing submission didn’t deceive the results eventually. I can see my writing journey compiled in my blog and my mind immediately think that, “Ah, this is how far I grow.” All of that posts are somewhat actually embarrassing but they’re also satisfying to reread.

The process of writing all of it was not easy for me. I like writing, but when it comes to writing for assignments, my subconscious mind would think that this course is something I should put to the top priority and that makes me tend to overthink about what should I write. It was really stressing to me when I had no idea what to write, so it ended up as unsatisfied and impulsive writing. Luckily, it becomes one of the important writing process that makes me realize that ideas come from anywhere. I shouldn’t overthink before I start writing.

I usually write and post my writing whenever I feel like it. But since this course required me to post a writing weekly, I worked hard to keep my schedule intact although sometimes I really had no idea what to write and almost forgot to submit one. Now that we have come to the end of this course, my writing experience has improved as well. I’m getting used to writing without checking online translator too much and my vocabulary has also increased. Even though this course has reached its final project, I’ll try to maintain my blog in the future and keep sharing my writings.

It has been a wonderful opportunity to be able to participate in this class. Writing assignments couldn’t be more enjoyable and fun than this course. The growth is slow and may not be obvious, but the results are there.
